Fierce Fiction: A Small Gift

A Small Gift

You carry your doubts and regrets everywhere you go; you were born with a present.
You wonder if tomorrow if you will gain more than you have lost.
Your hope follows you with every breath, every day.

As each day goes by you look for confidence and find none; you untie the ribbon.
Another hour passes and you fail again at your hopes.

Time ignores you as you fall and stand back up; you open your present.
Another morning, another breath, and another day to accept your flaws, your failures, and a chance to welcome your successes.
Because you were given a gift that some no longer have and others never knew.
